• Hello,

On my blog, I now have this sign “>” that appeared in the top left corner…How can I remove it?

The sign appeared yesterday after I activated GeoIP & browscap in the statistics panel. I then deactivated both, but the sign is still there, so it might be related…(see screenshot).

    Thank you,

To find out what’s appending it, try:
    – deactivating ALL (yes all) plugins temporarily to see if this resolves the problem (plugin functions can interfere). If this works, re-activate them individually (one-by-one) to find the problematic plugin(s).
    – switching to the unedited default Theme (Twenty Seventeen, etc.) for a moment using the WP dashboard to rule out any theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

have you edited the theme in header.php file recently?

Just passing by: t-p’s advice is solid, go first for the temporary theme change in case it helps.

If it didn’t, one last thing before you follow up with the theme deactivation road, it never hurts to F12-inspect that thing in your web browser, maybe – hey, who knows! – it contains in its source code bits of text mentions as to what has caused it to load.

Oh. And just in case, also, you tried with another web browser that has no cache memory of your blog?

I will do this this evening.

    Hello,

so I followed your advice and:

-I deactivated all plugins but the sign was still there.
-I changed to another theme and the sign disappeared.

I switched back to “twenty eleven” and the sign reappeared.

So what could I do now to find what is causing this sign to appear?

    Thank you for any help.
