Weird search box behavior

    OK, here’s a weird one. All of a sudden, the search box in my sidebar is acting crazy. As soon as you click to enter a search term, it loads one of my category pages. It does the same thing with different search widgets. Have you ever seen anything so weird? I don’t even begin to know where to look for the problem. Any ideas?     Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    Thanks Esmi.

    Went through all those steps.

    It seems that the same behavior affects all search engine widgets that are installed in sidebar two but moving them to sidebar one fixes the problem. I can live with that. (But it’s still awfully strange!)
