# Weird Question

 * We paid a web developer to create a webpage, he used wordpress and Buddyboss 
   and did a lot of worked but never finished and we are currently contacting a 
   lawyer to file a suite. Is there away to copy the site and hire a new developer
   to finish his work? We don’t have any administrative access to the site but have
   user based access.

 * You need FTP to download the wp-content folder; set up FTP in Cpanel at the webhost.
 * But you also need the database. If you have Cpanel and database access, export
   the database. [Backing Up Your Database « WordPress Codex](http://codex.wordpress.org/Backing_Up_Your_Database)
 * If you don’t have Cpanel access but can install plugins in WordPress, use the
   plugin [https://wordpress.org/plugins/adminer/](https://wordpress.org/plugins/adminer/)
   to export the database.

 * user access is controlled in the database —normally accessible from the webhosting
   account/PHPmyAdmin area. if you don’t have access to the database, that will 
   make it a challenge to get the important stuff you need.
