Support » Installing WordPress » Weird problem at installation

  • Hello,

I’m having trouble installing wordpress. When i press “fantastico deluxe” in my cpanel and then click on install wordpress, i get the following message:

The installation can not be completed:

    – You chose to install in the main directory of the domain, but there are conflicting filenames, therefore we can not proceed. Following filenames already exist in the main directory of the domain (path=”/home/villamar/public_html/”).You must manually remove these files before proceeding with auto-installation:

I should mention that i removed wordpress right after i installed it because all of a sudden i couldn’t have access to my blog and it was working fine a few minutes earlier.
Now that i try to reinstall it, it’s blocking on part 2/3.
I tried deleting the wp files but they keep reapearing alone

Does anyone know what i can do?

As fantastico states, you need to manually remove the wp-admin, wp-content and wp-includes folders before you can try another install in the root domain. If you continue to have problems, contact your hosts for assistance.

Great i will do that. I tried manually deleting them from my file manager but it didn’t work. I’ll see with my host. Thanks for your quick response esmi
