Everything validates, what could be causing this? It doesn’t matter how many posts I have showing up at a time, the last one on the first page always does this. The date doesn’t show up in the meta data. (Below the post). Once the post gets moved to the second page, it’s date shows up, and the bottom post on all the other pages shows up. It’s just the bottom post of the first page. Bizarre. Any suggestions?

I would think this is something in the theme, perhaps look at your index. or home.php and see what is included in the #1 post meta <div class=”postmeta”>
04.07.10 • and compare that with additional posts shown.

It is hard to say as all themes are a little different.
Single page seems fine also. just see if you can find where inclusion is for the home page for the second posts.

from an seo standpoint it really doesn’t matter if it shows on home page as the date is already in the posts url

could it be that your theme is using ‘the_date()’ in index.php?

    then read this:
    http://codex.wordpress.org/Template_Tags/the_date
    http://codex.wordpress.org/Template_Tags/the_time
