Here’s a new one. I am building a site for a client, updating an existing WP site.
The client has 7 domains hosted @ GoDaddy (don’t blame me) and after 4 days of tech support phone calls, all the domains now point to the one URL we are going to use.
I uploaded a static index.html page to the home dir to hide things while I work on the site.
The static index.html page didn’t work at first because it was not in the “proper” home directory out of the 7 possible home dirs. Several phone calls later, we fixed that issue
Now the static file appears properly. http://thedrivebyeconomist.com
BUT the WP console, to which at first I could not login, says this
Warning: fileperms() [function.fileperms]: stat failed for /home/content/47/11142147/html/thedrive-byeconomist/index.php in /home/content/47/11142147/html/thedrive-byeconomist/wp-admin/includes/file.php on line 912
Has anyone seen that before? What is the issue?
GoDaddy just told me “WordPress is very complicated — we don’t know everything.”
The error message refers to the specific home dir with the index.html file that loads instead of index.php, and is the home dir and URL that the original site was using.
