• Hey All,

I woke up to this weird error that simultaneously knocked out all my wordpress sites (even across different hosts).

For some reason, they started to Enqueue scripts using HTTPS..

    For example:
    <script type='text/javascript' src='https://domain.name/wp-includes/js/jquery/jquery.js?ver=1.11.2'></script>

I’ve managed to fix one of the website by removing WP Super cache all together, but it hasn’t seemed to work for other wordpress sites.

This problem even effected my local machine, but it only occurs when using Chrome.

I tried looking around for more information around Chrome Enforcing HTTPS, however without any luck.

Anyone else ever had this happen to them?

    Thanks

  • No. Chrome up to date, all WP sites with everything updated and it doesn’t happens.

So strange – It must be a plugin. Does anyone know where I should start looking? The symptoms are the same – forcing HTTPs on Jquery and Admin Login.

OK so I found the plugin causing this was WooCommerce (using 2.3.18)
    When it’s deactivated. No problems.

Nothing try to force HTTPs scripts…

So the fix was to update to the latest version of WooCommerce for anyone else experiencing this very strange issue.

I had the same problem this morning,
now I’ve disabled it and it works.
I’m going to update the plugin woocommerce noe.

Yea, and the WooCommerce update was pretty safe too. I was previously using version 2.3.2. There wasn’t any templates I had to change or anything like that, which is good.

Also, I had to refresh the cache to see the changes. Good luck.

You’re doing updates without proper testing before on production?

Of course this was on a test environment prior to upgrading on Production 🙂

    Ironic, but let me quote:

This problem happened without upgrading or modifying either development or production across all the sites using that version of WooCommerce!
    Very scary thought indeed.

I wonder who else this effected?

    Hi! an update:

It’s probably not that one’s website is broken.

Rather, my understanding this is a bug in Chrome, and that it is known and is currently being worked on. (I even read that ‘…they have merged fixes back to stable but have not released…’)

In other words, I think if one is patient, an imminent Chrome update will fix this.

For the time being though, I think the workaround is to use other browsers. (Firefox, Safari, IE, etc.) as they should not be affected, as this is a chrome bug.

Hey Mjassen, thanks for that update!

Definitely a big issue, but glad the woocommerce team had a patch for it.
