Weird behavior exact copy twentyeleven template

    Hi, Sorry if this has been posted before, I’ve tried searching here and everywhere and I’m at a loss.
    Situation:
    Installation: Clean
    Created a Child theme: no added css rules
    Created a copy of: twentyeleven/sidebar-page.php
    Copy has its own template name: test 1
    Static homepage: template sidebar-page.php

    Problem: When I use test 1 on the homepage or any other page, the #content gets aligned in the center and #entry-header receives a huge padding-top, I believe 3.5em.

    Question: How can I create a copy of the template sidebar-page.php which behaves the same?

    Anything to get me on the right track will be greatly appreciated.

    does it also have its own template file name?

    the #content gets aligned in the center

    and where is the sidebar?

    the layout of templates with sidebars is ruled by the css body_class() .singular which is set in functions.php of the parent theme.

    for any new template with a sidebar, you need to correct this css class in functions.php of the child theme;

    The sidebar was at it’s normal place.

    Thanks a bunch, seems I was not the only one with this problem after all. Unfortunatly I don’t have the time to try it out right now, but I’ll let everyone know this friday(yet I hope sooner).

    I suspect this is the solution I’ve been looking for.
