weekly summaries

I know I’ve seen this somewhere, but I can’t find an example and the solution is not presenting itself to me immediately. Basically, I would like to have the current week shown at the top of the page, with titles of posts from a particular category. A basic block calendar layout with all seven days showing is fine (maybe showing previous and next weeks as well, depending on layout). What’s the easiest way to accomplish this?
