Website Wrecked (4 posts)

    Hey all,

I've been looking through the site but my lack of knowledge is hurting me a lot, and it's the root of my current issue.

My website was sails.org, I went to change the url to http://www.AACPSArtsIntegration.org. I changed two fields in General Settings.

Not only did that not work, but sails.org is wrecked, the other site doesn't exist. Unless the site auto-backups, that's out the window. I went through my documents and found an ISSExpress folder that has a wp configure in it, but I know othing about how this is configured to the site. I'm seeing a lot of terminology in the help forum I don't understand.

Can anyone tell me how to fix this? I really don't want to start this thing over, it took me a while to get it where it currently is. Tried looking for a phone number for WP but it doesn't exist.

I also cannot login to WP in general, I just made this account so I could talk about it on the forum. I have no way of getting to my dashboard.

Thanks for reading through the panic, I hope someone out there can help me fix this

You should be contacting the DNS provider for sails.org:

Domain names must be paid for and registered regularly.

Then, consult new host with their response....

I hosted my site via BlueHost, is that what you mean or do I need to use domainsales.com?

I'd like a little more detail, and I thank you for your patience, anything I can do to fix this problem is great, but again I'm very new at all this.

If you owned sails.org, it looks like the domain expired. The domain is currently for sale starting at $16,000.00. Here is the owner information for the domain: http://www.networksolutions.com/whois/results.jsp?domain=sails.org

"aacpsartsintegration.org" is not owned by anyone. I would suggest that you purchase this. I would suggest using GoDaddy.com but you can by a domain from lots of people.

BlueHost may still have a copy of your website. It sound like they are/were your hosting company and if your bills are paid, I would suspect your site files to be there still.

    Hope this helps.
