Thank you, I have tried this and it does not appear that the instructions are 100% what I need.
I am trying to get rid of the “php5-22.dfw1-2.websitetestlink.com” from my permalinks which as far as I can see in my directory does not appear to be contingent upon the location of the files on the database.
Is this a setting I need to amend relating to test / active site??
What urls are shown in Settings – > General?
Hey Esmi,
Ah this link is appearing in both fields:
http://www.levelhealth.com.au.php5-22.dfw1-2.websitetestlink.com
And when I amend it in the WPsettings it has a melt down and I have to go and change back in phpmyadmin.
I don’t get where the websitetestlink comes from?
Completely conscious this is a meta-luddite question but I’ve been FAQ’ing myself in circles for a week…
Cheers,
G
Oh thanks esmi!
Hmm, my wp-config.php file doesn’t contain the following lines of code:
define(‘WP_HOME’,’http://example.com’);
define(‘WP_SITEURL’,’http://example.com’);
Can I just whack it in there next to define DB_USER and DB_PASSWORD ??
Yes – although the second method (using functions.php) is preferable as it won’t hard code the urls.
THANK YOU!!!
Have begun with the easy fix and will investigate the functions method as I learn more.
Thanks again!
Cheers,
George
