Website Structure - Design Recommendations (3 posts)

Hi - I'm totally new to WordPress and want to confirm I don't go off in the wrong direction. Can someone please offer their expertise?

My current website was designed using Microsoft Expression and information was structured using tables and nested tables. While it displays fine using IE, it doesn't display properly in other browsers.
You can check the site out at: http://www.techvm.com

I am moving to WordPress (Responsive Theme) and trying to retain the same look and feel as when browsing with IE.
Should I continue using tables to structure information or are there better practices?
    Any other design considerations/recommendations?

    In advance - thanks.

Tables are no longer considered good coding at all (not specific to WP) - for a number of reasons - https://www.google.com/search?q=don%27t+use+tables+for+layout&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a

Responsive is a great theme, though there are may others as well - Suffusion has tons of built-in options and layouts - so that might be worth checking out as well.

If you have a lot of structured info to organize, you could look at a plugin like PODS - http://wordpress.org/plugins/pods/

Thanks very much. This looks really promising. I'm going to check this all out in detail tomorrow in the morning.
