• I restored my site on to new (local) hardware after things went screwy with the old (local) hardware.

One thing that’s been problematic for me is the www alias. I originally had my site set via .htaccess to always go to http://www.mydomain.com, no matter what the user typed in (with or without www). Since the .htaccess file didn’t make it over, I’ve had to set my site up without the www, and I can get to the main page (front end) and back end admin area to make changes just fine, but unfortunately all my posts urls only work with the www included.

I’ve set up a new .htaccess and can get the site to only load www, but then I can no longer get to my site at all (or log into admin). I’ve even tried that trick of adding the url in the wp-content file with no luck there either.

Does anyone have any other ideas? Other stuff I could try? Will I need to tinker in the database to fix this?

I should make a correction in the third paragraph and say I can get the site URL to load with the www (but the site itself doesn’t display) until I remove the .htaccess redirect and go back to using just plain mydomain.com. (which again my posts won’t work with because they all have the www included)
