  • mis-type “arent theme” should be parent theme. Sorry.

if you can get in to your server, go to the file manager, find your child theme and delete the index.php. it doesn’t need to be there, your child theme only needs a style.css file with the relevant code in it to call the parent theme css.

Hi, before reading your reply, I added wp-content to my child theme as advised on this forum “Using your ftp navigate to wp-content donwload both your themes and plugins folder. Once you are satisfied that all files are downloaded correctly, delete both folders and re-upload the original ones from the wordpress core files.” Information was for someone with a similar problem to mine. The info regrds being able to get back in to the WP dashboard. I deleted the index.php file and thought I had better delete the WP-content also. Now I can not delete it and think this may cause even more problems?

Hi, it’s all back up and running. I also added wp_includes and everything came back? I do not know if I did the right thing? I took advice from the internet. Now in my child theme I have style.css, wp-content and wp-includes. Do you know if this is ok or not?
