• Hi,

I’m using the Customizr theme with Nimble Builder. Whenever I refresh my webpage or navigate between pages, all my website fonts, including those on the main and secondary menus, tagline, headers, and main text quickly change to an italicized font and then switch back again. Sometimes it appears to switch between several fonts. Also, my logo changes size briefly as well. I have selected my main website font using the Customizer Global Settings “Google Font Picker and Font Size” area. But it seems to be pulling in fonts from somewhere else. I am not using any custom css.

I use both the “Site Wide Options” font settings as well as font settings within individual modules of Nimble Builder. I thought that there might be a conflict between Nimble Builder and Customizr, but when I disabled the Nimble Builder plugin, the problem still occurs.

When I switched my theme to Twenty Twenty One, the problem did not occur. So it seems to be something occurring with the Customizr theme. This is happening in both Firefox and Chrome on a PC Desktop running Windows 8.1. I also disabled all plugins and then cleared both browser’s histories and the problem still occurs.

Hope you can help me figure out what is wrong.

    Thanks,
    Rob

As a follow up, the fonts did not switch when I used the web-safe font pairs. After doing some research, I suspect that it has something to do with Customizr using a temporary font while the site loads and then swapping it when my selected fonts load. But this happens every single time I load my site, refresh it, or change pages. The browsers do not remember the correct fonts and have to reload them again. Using only the web-safe fonts on my site is not a realistic option as I don’t like the look of them. I created my site using Customizr 5 years ago and never had this issue until I started redesigning it a month ago. I’m hoping you have a suggestion.

    Thanks,

    Rob

So I believe I solved the issue. “Preload Google Fonts” was turned on in both Customizr (Advanced Options –> Website Performances) and in Nimble Builder (Site Wide Options). After I turned these settings off, my fonts load perfectly and don’t switch around anymore. Hopefully, this answer helps anyone else with a similar problem.
