Website down and cannot login to Control Panel

Hi everyone

The website I help run, http://www.playhouse.org.uk, has been down for a few days now and I cannot log in to the control panel. Nothing at all happens when I type in the address. This happened recently to another wordpress site of mine and when I called my hosting company they said it was a fault with a plugin and fixed it for me.

The problem here is that we had the site redesigned by a guy who is unfortuntaely currently in hospital so unable to assist. When we launched the new site, we pointed it to this guy’s server, the IP address of which I have. His instructions at the time were “Your current provider needs to change the A record of the DNS settings to 82.165.82.13” – which we did. However a whois search still lists the current provider as a company called “1&1” which is a bit confusing? I am currently trying to retrieve details of our relationship with them.

My question is, is there anything I can do whilst I wait for him to come out of hospital? OR does this sound like a problem with his server which he will need to resolve?

Any advice much appreciated as I am panicking a bit, but we do have back ups.
