    Hello.

    This is a critical message, I updated to the last version and website is down (white page). IF I deactivate the plugin the website will work, if I activate it, it will crash again.

    Could you try replacing that block with something like this:

    <?php if ( get_field( "time" ) ) { ?>
    Works
    <?php  } ?>

    And then

    <?php if ( get_field( "skill" ) ) { ?>
    Works
    <?php  } ?>

    Just to see if there’s an issue with 1 particular field or both.

    Bro this is crazy. So check this out. I did what you said. Nothing happend, just white page, so I ended up deleteing all the block again, and guess what? The website was not working. I know that I said in the earlyer posts that If I delete that block which contains this ACF it will work and when I tested it it worked, but now it seem it doesn’t anymore. So I guess it was the cache.

    So what I did next was to disable all the 3 caching plugins that I have installed in order for me to can do some real testing because this is driving me crazy. So I disabled Super Cache, Autoptimize and Nginix Cache and tested again and guess what it worked with ACF on and do_shortcodes ON but with one exception. The page breaked at one post. So what I did next was to put that particular post in draft and after that my page loaded well. The next step was to re-enable all the caching programs, delete the cache and make another test and guess what? It works.

    So the problem comes from one particular post of mine. I must inspect it carefully. If I keep this post in draft, the website works fine, but it’s strange that I can crash some plugins just by adding a simple post because my post contains just some text and some images + your recipe. Mabey I’ve added something in the recipe, I should check.

    Done. Problem solved. There was something in the recipe which crashed everything.

    Happy to hear you were able to solve the issue!
    What was the exact problem in the recipe? Is it something I can prevent in the plugin?
    If not, it would be useful to keep in mind if anyone else ends up with this problem.

    Yes, you might prevent this for happening, but for me it’s ok because I know now and I have a workaround method. But we can talk more on skype if you want because we already wrote a lot here.

    It would be helpful for anyone who finds this thread because of a similar issue if the solution is here as well. Or you could email to us at support@bootstrapped.ventures if you want to keep it private for some reason.

    The solution is not to tell the users what to avoid to type in their recipes but rather to get a fix on the developer side so I think that it’s best to let you know on skype what was the problem which caused my recipe to crash, but if you don’t want it’s not a problem. I know what to avoid in the future, probably peoples which aren’t developers and will get into this type of issue they will probably switch plugins.

    I really don’t understand why we’d need to set up a Skype call for this. Just shoot us an email or let me know here. I’ve already spent a ton of time debugging this issue with you so would appreciate if you could just let me know what the problem was in the end.

    The thing is that I kinda debugged anything and keept a log here right ? If it wasn’t for me, this problem whouldn’t be solved right now. I know for sure that If I had let all this job on you, the problem would be still up. So I am not happy that I spent 3 days debugging one bug which is in the recipe plugin. I could have done better things in this time but I knew that if I don’t do something by my self, the problem won’t be solved. And I gave you lots of information already about this issue. You won’t find anybody else ever to do such a serious debug on one of you plugins. Remember that I started to copy file by file from an older version to this curent verion until I got the file and after that I did line by line ot get to the shorcode line, and after that I made lots of tests removing and adding code and also disabling plugins and articles. And after I got to the final point it was easy to spot the problem. So anyways, if you want to fix this, you know what you have to do.
