• Hi.

I successfully updated to the newest and latest version, and I was going through the recommended security suggestions.
I can’t remember exactly which recommendation that caused the problem, but now my website simply displays the word “error”.
I renamed the plugin folder to better-wp-security.bak and then reinstalled the plug-in, but the same thing happens.
I’d really like to have the plug-in working, so is there anything I can do to rectify the problem?

    Regards
    Iain Kennedy

    Sorry.
I tired all different combinations for what I thought it might be with no luck.

You are so kind spottydog! 🙂

Just now, I checked through the other threads in this forum, and found something helpful. I went into my wp-content/plugins folder and added a work in front of the better-wp-security file, thus breaking its hold over my login. I’ve deleted the entire plugin and replaced it with another security plugin.

the error you see is due to NUMEROUS 404 errors being generated by the admin-ajax.php. To get around it you will have to login in from a different device and whitelist your current IP address or edit .htaccess to whitelist address and then you can disable plugin.
