 * Is the theme you are using custom or did you get it from the themes area/purchase
   it?
    Are you using a plugin to create these portfolios? Can you edit each page
   displaying each category?
 * My guess would be either there is an issue with the theme/plugin code that is
   making the 3 categories act like they are the same code, or each of the pages
   in question is sharing the same shortcode that has those 3 categories selected.

 * HI Michael,
 * This was a theme we purchased back in 2011 from themeforest.
 * I took a look at the plugins on wordpress, I see Shadowbox JS, that might be
   what it is using. There is also a section in the Dashboard menu called PORTFOLIO
   that contains Portfolio, Add New and Portfolio Categories.
 * Not sure what you exactly mean by “Can you edit each page displaying each category?”
   I’d need an example and additional information to help you answer that.
 * Your guess seems accurate. How do we fix? Is there a way you or someone you know
   could advise?

 * First thing I would do is make sure you have the latest version of the theme.
   If you purchased it back in 2011, have you been receiving updates since then?
 * The issue could also be with Shadowbox JS, looking at the plugin page ([https://wordpress.org/plugins-wp/shadowbox-js/](https://wordpress.org/plugins-wp/shadowbox-js/))
   I see it has not been updated in 2 years. Depending on which version of WordPress
   you are using (I hope it the latest or at least a version or 2 old), that could
   be interfering your site as well.

 * The theme was a one of, there were no updates.
 * There were updates in the plugins which are all up to date.
 * Latest version of WordPress
    I’m wondering if someone can go into the code and
   correct what you is wrong.
 * Any thoughts?
 * I may have to tell the client this is much more than a simple web update and
   requires a web coder to fine tune the issues
 * Justin
