    Hi

My website crashed due to invalid code.
I tried to turn on safe mode by copying into wp-config.php the line “define(‘CODE_SNIPPETS_SAFE_MODE’, true);” but unfortunately it didn’t help.
I do managed to turn off the plugin by changing the folder name via FTP, and my site is on air now, but if I try to activate the plugin it crashes again.

    Help?

    Thanks

Where abouts did you put the line in wp-config.php? It’s important to put it somewhere above the /* That’s all, stop editing! Happy blogging. */ line.

Yea, that’s where I put it, but it still crashes.
I double checked that I did everything as explained, but still same results.

    Thanks

    Any updates?
BTW, if I can’t turn on safe mode, at least can you explain how do I delete the entire snippet through FTP? In which file it resides?

    Thanks

The snippets can be found in the {table prefix}snippets (usually wp_snippets) table in the database. You can safely delete the row containing the problem snippet with no unwanted side-effects.

Great, I deleted the said table and it stopped crashing my website.

Still the safe mode doesn’t work though…

Unfortunately, I can verify that safe mode still works as expected on all sites I have access to, so there is not much I can do about that. I’m glad you could solve the issue in your instance, though.
