Hi, I want the chatbot to give information only from the website it’s installed in. I saw the tutorials but it looks that they are for the Pro plugin. Is there a simple way to make the chatbot learn my website by its’ own and to restrict it from answering about questions that are not related to the website with the free version?
This can be done by setting your chatbot’s instructions, explaining your business information, and specifying which topics should be addressed and which should not. You can refer to this documentation to learn more. Hope this helps!
Thanks. I went through this document and the only place for Instructions I could find was under ‘finetunes’ > ‘Dataset editor’ but in the ‘Instructions’ I could not Add Entry. The button is not working. I tried to import a file but it does except txt file.
On the other hand, the document in your link advice to use “content awareness’ but this option is available only in the Pro version.
Last but not least – I found the option in ‘finetunes’ > ‘Generator’ to auto generate pages and products. Is this the way the AI chatbot could learn the website I want it to reply about?
The need is that the chatbot will reply regarding the website data and only from the website.
Unfortunately, you cannot inhibit the AI model from using its pre-trained knowledge, as it forms the foundation of its capabilities. This how the AI models are, this is not something about the plugin itself.
Hence, we recommend implementing “smart prompts” to restrain your chatbot’s topical scope. This method is often referred to as ‘prompt engineering’. The key lies in framing the chatbot’s context as precise and lucid as possible, thereby concentrating on a specific subject matter. Do not hesitate to script prompts like, “If this query isn’t related to our business, reply with: ‘I cannot assist with this matter.” Although this might not completely limit the topics, it provides greater control over the chatbot’s responses.
The “instructions” field is located at the Chatbot settings level and is not related to fine-tuning or any pro features. This functionality is available out of the box, as it simply sets the innate context for the AI model.
Fine-tuning is a highly specific process that requires significant time and data, which might make it challenging to tailor your chatbot to fit your business needs. When using the import feature for fine-tuning, it expects the input to follow a specific format. If the requirements are not met, the process will not work. You can find the template import file.
Thanks for your reply. So in order to instruct my chatbot to give anwers from my website as possible, you suggest to do it in two levels? 1 – From the AI itself. 2 – From the plugin setting.
Regarding the plugin setting – I could not find the option to do it with the free plugin’s version. The “Assitants” is for Pro only.
The chatbots’ “instruction” field is available for editing in any chatbot and does not require any pro features. This works for regular chatbots as well as Assistants.
