• I am experiencing problems with my site and it’s admin site on a regular basis (multiple times a week).

It is a secure site. Using Zephyr theme. and toolset.
Despite keeping up with all updates for WordPress and plugins, I consistently cannot load the site or my admin site. I cannot cost my company any more IT $$s restoring and will be questioned once again as this just happened last week. and last month. and at least monthly since March.

How have you been resolving those issues regularly and what are they? It sounds like the fix that has been applied isn’t sustainable if the issue keeps reoccuring.

Yes. I have IT restore both the website and admin site from last backup.
From there I may discover there is a theme update or some other plug in update.
But again, I just updated everything on friday. Everything still worked on saturday.
    now it’s all down.

this time i have the following:

Other times the site may eventually load but only the homepage. Sometimes I have a completely different screen with links to different countries (stating something regarding to the website registration/domain)

Have your IT company given you any more information about the issue and their fix? I imagine you don’t really want to bother them again, but then again if they haven’t given you the explanation of their work and steps to prevent it, they aren’t doing their job.

    Thread Starter gbsltdadmin

    (@gbsltdadmin)

No. Just a restore of the latest backup. Also installed a plug in for executing automated backups on a weekly basis.

So, your thoughts are this is a server issue vs. WordPress/plug in issue?

What is your IT team for? If they are a development team involved in the creation of your site then I recommend liaising with them about this issue.

If they’re just a hosting company then it sounds like they weren’t actually fixing the issue and were just restoring from an old backup.

    Thread Starter gbsltdadmin

    (@gbsltdadmin)

Not sure if the restore is complete as I haven’t heard back from IT, but I was able to get into Admin.

This is the exact same issue (including the version) as we had last week. How is this possible?

Your Website Content needs to be changed to be compatible with Zephyr 6.4

Also, Site Health check indicated critical issue — REST API.
Can you confirm if this is plug in compatibility issue or server issue?

It could be either. Do you get the REST API issue with all plugins disabled?

Also, if your site is crapping out crashing once a week, it’s probably not a wordpress problem.

This is not a WP error message:

What’s in the logs when that happens? (You’ll probably have to ask the IT team about this.)

Well I finally got through everything and was able restore the site. I really appreciate your help, because if it’s a server issue, I’d like to propose alternative hosting options to the one we’re using.

With that, have you seen a lot of issues with the Zephyr theme? Each time this happens, when I finally do get into Admin, I have the following notification:

Your Website Content needs to be changed to be compatible with Zephyr 6.4
