Last week I fixed the recommended issues as suggested by Really Simple SSL Plugin for WordPress (for my site). After a day or two, my site got messed up. Although I am still able to log in and access, I can not open any page. Also, zero views since then and even the pages are not showing up on the search results. I tried removing the plugin but it didn’t work.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

And just now received a mail from search console.

Do you have an example of a page that doesn’t load? I tried a few, but didn’t see the issue yet.

The message from search console suggests a php error. To find it you can install wp debugging, then check the log for errors. If you post the error here, we can take a look.

Please also try removing the htaccess redirect from Really Simple SSL (if inserted). This is not the most likely cause, but worth checking.

None of the pages seem to work properly.

First, site’s dimensions are totally off on both desktop and the phone.

    Second, images are not loading.

Third, every page looks like it is still loading but it stays that way and never fully loads.

Fourth, I did remove the htaccess and changed it to the normal 301 redirect. If this is the issue, how long do you think it will take to restore the website back to normalcy.

I am unable to post screenshots here. That would have given you a clearer picture.

    I’ll try wp debugging.

This is the error that I got (about 12 times) after using debug quick look.

I used purge error. And rechecked and then it showed more and more errors. 🙁

The above php warning from your caching plugin is just a warning, so no issue.

I do see an error in the console on pageload. The error seems related to the image loading. As the page itself loads, there is probably an issue with one the loading of your resources. Both JavaScript and images are not loading it seems.

I see resources loading from wp domains, which suggests you are using a cdn. Is this photon from jetpack? Please try disabling the cdn / photon. Possibly the cdn is not configured for https correctly. I’ve seen similar issues with jetpack in the https://really-simple-ssl.com/images-not-found-photon-jetpack/

Please check with your cdn if you need to take additional steps when forcing ssl.

I deactivated Jetpack and the website is working as good as before. Thanks a lot. Really appreciate it.

Just one more question. Because of using WP Debugging, Really Simple SSL now shows a warning that my Debug Log is now public. I am worried about it. Any way around it?

Also, will this fix the indexing issues that Search Console sent?

    Plugin Author Rogier Lankhorst

    (@rogierlankhorst)

    Great!

Search console: Yes, I expect so, because the search console error was caused by the resources loading error.

Debugging: When you disable wp debugging, you can delete the debug.log file (located in the wp-content folder), which will resolve the issue.
