 * As far as I am aware – no changes have been made to the site – but all pages
   are now being overwritten with the following text:
 * “Images tagged “2022”Images tagged “ngg_tag-2″Images tagged “ngg_tag”Images tagged“
   ngg_tag”Images tagged “ngg_tag-5″Images tagged “2020”Images tagged “ngg_tag”Images
   tagged “ngg_tag-2″Images tagged “ngg_tag-3″Images tagged “ngg_tag-4″Images tagged“
   ngg_tag-5″Images tagged “ngg_tag-6″Images tagged “ngg_tag-8″Images tagged “ngg_tag-
   9″Images tagged “ngg_tag-8″Images tagged “ngg_tag-10″Images tagged “ngg_tag-7″
   Images tagged “ngg_tag-4″Images tagged “ngg_tag-9″Images tagged “ngg_tag-3″Images
   tagged “ngg_tag-6″Images tagged “ngg_tag-2″Images tagged “ngg_tag-21″Images tagged“
   ngg_tag-7″Images tagged “ngg_tag-8”
 * And it goes on for 1000’s of lines.
 * Any ideas??
 * The page I need help with: _[[log in](https://login.wordpress.org/?redirect_to=https%3A%2F%2Fwordpress.org%2Fsupport%2Ftopic%2Fwebpage-garbled%2F%3Foutput_format%3Dmd&locale=en_US)

 * This may be a plugin or theme conflict. Please attempt to disable all plugins,
   and use one of the default (Twenty*) themes. If the problem goes away, enable
   them one by one to identify the source of your troubles. Start with Next Gen
   Gallery, as the images seem to be part of a slider/gallery.
 * If you can install plugins, install “Health Check”: [https://wordpress.org/plugins/health-check/](https://wordpress.org/plugins/health-check/)
   On the troubleshooting tab, you can click the button to disable all plugins and
   change the theme for you, while you’re still logged in, without affecting normal
   visitors to your site. You can then use its admin bar menu to turn on/off plugins
   and themes one at a time.
 * See [http://www.wpbeginner.com/plugins/how-to-deactivate-all-plugins-when-not-able-to-access-wp-admin/](http://www.wpbeginner.com/plugins/how-to-deactivate-all-plugins-when-not-able-to-access-wp-admin/)

 * HI thanks for your response –
 * It seems to be creating tags on photos like crazy – 16 000 so far.
 * I am using NexGen gallery as a photo manager.
 * I will try your suggestions and see if it makes any difference.

 * OK – so I disabled all plugins and tried to change the theme and I got an error
   saying:
 * There has been a critical error on this website. Please check your site admin
   email inbox for instructions.
 * I am an admin – but I do not get any emails from WordPress!

 * I suggest you to check the PHP logs for errors, or enable WordPress debug mode
   to check what is causing the problem.

 * Errors like this are logged. Check the error log on your server. If you can’t
   find the log, please contact your host.
 * Meantime, enable wp_debug and wp_debug_log and after an error, look at wp-content/
   debug.log to see if anything gets logged there. [https://wordpress.org/support/article/debugging-in-wordpress/](https://wordpress.org/support/article/debugging-in-wordpress/)
 * You can also try this: Please attempt to disable all plugins, and use one of
   the default (Twenty*) themes. If the problem goes away, enable them one by one
   to identify the source of your troubles.
 * If you cannot access wp-admin, there are other ways to deactivate plugins:  [https://wordpress.org/support/article/faq-troubleshooting/#how-to-deactivate-all-plugins-when-not-able-to-access-the-administrative-menus](https://wordpress.org/support/article/faq-troubleshooting/#how-to-deactivate-all-plugins-when-not-able-to-access-the-administrative-menus)

 * OK – I have narrowed it down to the NextGen Gallery Plugin which is just generating
   and publishing pages automatically.
 * I have deleted the plugin and replaced it with a new one.
 * I am now trying to get to MENUS to switch off the automatically generate pages
   switch – but MENU just crashes every time and gives me an error message that
   it has emailed the SIte Admin (Me) with the error, but I never get the email.
 * Any suggestions.
 * I do not know where the site is hosted so that’s another issue.

 * Your host seems to be “hivevelocity.net”. I recommend asking at [https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/nextgen-gallery/#new-post](https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/nextgen-gallery/#new-post)
   so the plugin’s developers and support community can help you with this.

 * Thanks again, esp for the HOST name – I will need to get hold of them somehow–
   but this being a charity website no one knows anything!!
 * I am already in touch with IMAGELY and they are helping – but the next step is
   to switch off the auto-generation thing – which is apparently in MENU – but I
   can’t get to the MENU page to do this!! Grrrr!!
 * Thanks again – any ideas are always welcome!

 * Thanks – as I have mentioned – I do not know where the site is hosted – I think
   it’s at hivevelocity.net and 1 am checking with them.
 * I am the WP-Admin (volunteer with no WP experience) so need to know where the
   debugging setup is etc…
 * Sorry about the low level of knowledge – but I just volunteered to do this when
   the other guy disappeared !!

 * I did – but as I do not have access to the web server files/folders (SFTP or
   C-Panel) I cannot locate the wp-config.php let alone edit it.
 * But if I get access I will let you know what occurs.
