 * Hi,
 * i have deleted the plugin but it still loads the webp versions, but i see i also
have jpeg versions uploaded. How can i make the posts load the jpeg version instead
   of the Webp?

 * Hi there [@liathess](https://wordpress.org/support/users/liathess/),
 * Having the WebP version of any image load isn’t a problem, however, if you wish
to ensure all images are using the JPEG version of an image you can replace any
WebP images by uploading the JPEG version using the standard WordPress image
   uploader.
 * Note also that if you had the “_[Media > Uploading Giles > Generate JPEG files in addition to WebP](https://i.imgur.com/lBK9NGF.png)_”
option enabled when you had the plugin active, there will already be existing
JPEG versions of your images available for selection, meaning you don’t have
   to upload once more.
 * There may also be plugins that you can use to bulk process images if you happened
to upload many WebP images and you no longer wish to use them.
 * Let me know if you have any questions with the above. [](https://i.imgur.com/Wc72Hxu.png)

 * Hi James, thank you for the reply. I had the JPEG opion enabled so indeed, i
do have the JPEG versions uploaded. I just don’t know how to replace the Webp
versions replaced with the jpegs, so i can later delete the WebP versions

 * As long as you have the _[“Generate JPEG files in addition to WebP](https://i.imgur.com/lBK9NGF.png)_”
open enabled have you tried deactivating the Performance Lab plugin and then
checking all images once more? In my case the images revert to using the jpeg
version of all. I’ll check this with the team to ensure this is normal and expected,
but please do check your images after deactivating the plugin.

 * Hi James, i had the option enabled and have both jpeg and webp in my folders,
but when i deleted the plugin, photos did not revert to jpeg. So, when i open
the photos that are inside the posts i see the webp in the library, under which
   says: Original photo “example.jpeg” .
All posts published when i had the plugin
enabled, still load the webp versions and i really need a way to replace them,
because i have discovered through GSC, many feature photos of the posts, are
hotlinked in spammy websites. And this happens as i see only with the Webp photos,
not any Jpegs from previous posts.

 * [@liathess](https://wordpress.org/support/users/liathess/) In that case you can
reupload the original jpeg for images that are WebP. Alternatively, if you have
a lot of WebP images which you wish to replace you can use a third party plugin
that bulk processes images from the WordPress plugin repository. Unfortunately
there is no option within the plugin to switch previously from previously generated
   WebP images to JPEGs.

 * Making use of WebP as opposed to JPEG doesn’t have any negative impact on how
your site appears in search. WebP images are generated only if the WebP version
is a smaller file size than the JPEG, which can give a boost in search.
 * Let me know if you have any further questions on this.
