    Hello @taisho,

Yes, there is an explanation for this. In the Optimole settings, you use auto quality which is the same quality as the source image.
If you change that from the Optimole settings tab to something like medium or low, it might get better.

For instance, with low on https://mledntqeqnnn.i.optimole.com/w:416/h:312/q:55/https:/parymet.pl/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/satyna12x25_b.jpg has around 7KB
with the medium on https://mledntqeqnnn.i.optimole.com/w:416/h:312/q:75/https:/parymet.pl/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/satyna12x25_b.jpg it gets around 10KB

I hope this answers your question.

Thanks for an answer, so here is my feedback:
    – size difference is because default WordPress thumbnail quality is 82 and auto quality was higher than this. Auto quality being source quality (100) is a complete misinformation.
    – I think Auto setting was default, so in my opinion auto quality should be near WordPress default value, because people expect to have images compressed and end up with actually larger images.
    – settings are: high compression = 55 quality, medium compression = 75 quality, low compression = 90 quality, it’s a bit vague to have settings named like this and quality nowhere mentioned, I like how WebP Express plugin shows it (quality value) and mentions that 82 is default WordPress quality and usually there should be no need to go over 85 quality, so both novices and tech gurus know what kind of quality / compression they can expect from this setting
    – 90 quality is an overkill for me, but on 75 I already see some quality decrease, especially with zoom, I would perfectly like to set quality by point value, worst case scenario additional WordPress default quality would be enough, for now I’m forced to stay with low compression (90)

    Hello @taisho,

I appreciate your feedback, you have some valid points which made me think more about this.

The quality factor also depends on the user’s website profile and the type of images used. For some of them, auto might be better than the WordPress default value, for some it does not.

However I agree that point value might be better for users who want a more granular setting, I will try to improve them in the next release.
