    Hello

I would like to ask about IPTC data in converted images. If I will use your plugin and all photos will be converted to WEBP, will they have IPTC data like ‘creator’ or ‘copyright notice’? I want to have these data im images because of SEO.

    Dzięki i pozdrawiam 🙂

    Hi @damian-p,

    Thank you for your message.

If you are using the GD library then all such data will be deleted because this library does not have a choice.

In the case of the Imagick library, it is possible to skip this – currently this data is also deleted, but I can turn it off in the next update.

Great 🙂 So I’m waiting for next update!!

    Thanks!

Until then, please find the file:
    /wp-content/plugins/webp-converter-for-media/app/Convert/Imagick.php

    And delete the following line:
    $image->stripImage();

And follow the updates because after the update you will have to change the plugin settings to keep it working the same.

    Pozdrawiam 😉

So in the next update I still need change it manually? Or there will be option for saving IPTC?

In the next update, I will add an option in the plugin settings.

    Great 🙂 Thanks!!

    Hi @damian-p,

How do you do? I released an update that introduces the change to the plug. Please check the “Keep images metadata stored in EXIF or XMP formats” option in the plugin settings and everything will work 🙂

    Hi! 🙂
Sorry for being away almost 4 weeks 🙂 I finally use your plugin on my site. I have Imagick turned on on my server and in plugin settings I have selected “Keep images metadata stored in EXIF or XMP formats”. But now when I’m checking any webp image in this tool http://metapicz.com/#landing I don’t see any of EXIF or IPTC informations…

    Also, I have this error:
Przekierowania na twoim serwerze nie działają. Sprawdź prawidłową konfigurację dla ciebie w FAQ wtyczki. Jeżeli twoja konfiguracja jest prawidłowa to oznacza, że twój serwer nie obsługuje przekierowań z pliku .htaccess lub żądania do obrazków są przetwarzane przez serwer z pominięciem Apache. W tej sytuacji skontaktuj się z administratorem swojego serwera.

but after regenerating thumbnails, webp images are generated… but without EXIF 🙁 .htaccess files are also generated as well.

    Any ideas? 🙂

// Imagick works, because when I regenerate original image (*.jpg), EXIF and IPTC are visible.

    Thanks!

Hello again @damian-p, if you have such a message, please do what is written in the last sentence 🙂

And I did this 🙂 But support says that everything is ok on the server, redirects in *.htaccess are working properly. I could send to u my server configuration (info from plugin) but I don’t wan’t to do it here in public.
