    Hi,

I noticed a strange problem that I didn’t have before with your plugin.
webP images appear in library even larger than the original jpg images. Although they are even resized.

I tried with QuickWebP as well and same result.

Have you experienced this issue lately?

    hosting: Siteground

    wp version: 6.7.2

    Thanks,

    M.

    Hello,

Indeed, this problem is strange, I have never encountered it, can you send me a screenshot of your settings in the plugin + an example of an image that is causing the problem.

    Hi,

Here you can see screenshots of what I experience and a sample of an image, that not only gets bigger but gets rotated to landscape after upload.

    Thanks,
    M.

    Hello @ihou,

I wanted to let you know that your information was very helpful in identifying the issue with WebP files being larger than the original JPG files. This issue has been fixed in version 2.5.2 of the plugin. Thank you again for your valuable contribution.

    Hi Ludwig,

Thank you too, for this valuable plugin!
I’m glad I could help. Keep up the good work!

Also, another thing I did not understand is how the bulk optimization works. I get “No images to optimize” even though I deselected “Do not compress images already in WebP
Now I have to remove the images that are not compressed right and upload them again.

Yes, it’s true that it might not be clear enough; the bulk upload option only works when using the “Save original images” + “Display images in WebP format on the site” option.

    Got it! Thanks!
