Hi there – I am using Media File Renamer in combination with Shortpixel. When using Shortpixel a series of webp files are created to further improve the website’s performance. Unfortunately though, if I use Media File Renamer to rename an image, the related webp files are not renamed. How is everybody else dealing with this? Is there a setting I am missing? Thanks very much – David

    Hi,

It’s automatic, and supported 🙂 How are your webp files named exactly?

Thanks for the prompt response Jordy. I uploaded a jpg called uranium-sample as a test and then processed it using Shortpixel. This compressed the jpgs and created a series of webp files. I then changed the image name to silver-uranium-sample by changing the image title in WordPress. After checking the uploads folder using my SFTP, the name of the jpgs have changed to silver-uranium-sample, however, the webp files have the name uranium-sample.

I am working on a new version right now and it’s difficult for me to push a little fix on the old/current one.

Would you mind contact me directly? I will share with you the new version 🙂 Here: https://meowapps.com/contact/

Although the topic says ‘Resolved” I’ts so disappointing that I purchased Real Physical Media Folders and downloaded your plugin as a requirement, and have exactly the same problem with WEBP files NOT being renamed.
It is as though they are just being skipped, which is frustrating for an eCommerce site with around 10,000 images to move to the physical folders on the server. What can be done about my WEBP images? They are not being served on any browser as they did before.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi @wendyjin,

There are many ways those webp can be created and served. This issue is closed, but you might have another issue (related to the same subject).

Which plugin are you using to generate your WebP files?

    I am using Shortpixel

Media file renamer just does not rename them. I don’t know why?

    Hi @wendyjin,

It’s actually working on the new version (and on a version before the current one released here). There was a little issue between the webp support and the PDF thumbnails support (though it sounds unrelated), it was either one or the other.

Please contact me directly here: https://meowapps.com/contact. I’ll send you the new version that works. I don’t release it yet as I would like to test it with more people before a big release 🙂

Thank you very much for your quick replies.
I have contacted you via https://meowapps.com/contact
Please kindly send me the new version.

    Received, thank you very much.
    Amazing support !!!
