    Hello
1 – I was using “WebP Converter for Media” and “Cache Enabler” together to impove page loading. It works and images are loaded in WebP format as expected.
2 – Howewer “Cache Enabler” is an simple easy to use caching plugin, so I replaced it with the more powerfull “W3 Total Cache” plugin : Removing the first and installing the second one.
3 The loding time is improved globaly by the same amount but the WebP images are no more use by “W3 Total Cache”. It loads the original .jpg images!
4 I tried different adjustments of “W3 Total Cache” and was not able to use again the .webp images.

These two plugin do not work together ! I will also report the problem to the “W3 Total Cache” team.
    Robert.

    Hi @kirschrg,

    Thank you for your message.

Could I please send me the WebP plugin settings you use? Please also send the contents of the following files:

    • /.htaccess
    • /wp-content/.htaccess
    • /wp-content/uploads/.htaccess

Also please send me the content of these files when you deactivate the cache plugin when WebP is working properly.

Do you use any filters for this plugin?

Ok Problem solved in meantime :

I went through W3 Total Cache Best Settings at https://fatfrogmedia.com/w3-total-cache/#database-cache
I think the main adjustment I made in “W3 Total Cache” to make it work was to set “Page cache” on “Disk mode”. It delivers now the “WebP Converter for Media” .webp images as expected. Very fast page loading, rating 99 or 100 on Google Lighthouse performance index !

Sorry for the trouble and thanks for the fast answer.
    Robert.

@kirschrg, I am very happy and thank you for the explanation. It will be useful to other people.

Sorry to revive this thread but I thought it would be better than starting a new one. I have the same issue: W3 Total Cache installed and just ran the WEBP Converter and set it to “via htaccess (recommended)” with no errors. But even after tying every mode for Page Cache (disk, disk:enhanced, memcached) and clearing caches repeatedly, I still don’t get served the WEBP files. Do you have any new info on how to do this, Mateusz?
