Support » Plugin: WebP Converter for Media - Convert WebP & Optimize Images » WebP Converter Flagged by WordFence Scan

  • Resolved 1waytoheaven

    wp-content/plugins/webp-converter-for-media/src/Loader/PassthruLoader.php
    wp-content/plugins/webp-converter-for-media/src/Conversion/Directory/DirectoriesIntegration.php

The last update of WbP Converter is flagged by Wordfence scans for file differences, so we had to disable WebP Converter until these are fixed.

WordFence is telling users it could just be sloppy coding by the developer, but might be malware.

Looking forward to this being attended to 🙂

    Hello @1waytoheaven,

    Thanks for your message.

This problem is because one user reported a bug after updating and I fixed it by uploading files to the repository without changing the plugin version. I didn’t want to release the update for everyone right away, because this fix only affects him.

You probably downloaded the update right away and therefore you have a file mismatch with what you have on your server and what is in the repository. Please download the plugin from the repository again and everything should work fine.

I will wait a few more days for no other issues to be reported and then I will release this little update. Sorry for the inconvenience.

    Best,
    Mateusz

Thank you for the quick response, and I confirm that deleting the plugin, re-uploading it, activating, and re-running it, fixed the file differnces discovered in WordFence.

I update plugins manually, which I assume is more delayed than the WP auto-update option, so perhaps I should wait even longer before updating this one in future?

@1waytoheaven No, this is absolutely not your fault. I did the wrong thing. Update plugins when possible. It is very important.
