First of all, technically in the United States, all sites are supposed to be screen reader friendly. Have you ever used/seen a screen reader? There are some blind lawyers out of UC Berkeley who spend their lives tracking down screen reader unfriendly sites (don’t worry, I’m sure it’s major sites!). I only know these things because one of my best friends was blind from the age of 9 until she was 29 and has limited vision that varies from day to day and while she can see again, yay!, she still does some things “blind” because it’s faster and easier on her eyes.
Personally I can’t think of a choose your own font size option. Have you looked for a plugin that does this? Also on my kindle and on my phone, ipad, etc., there are options for making the font bigger. On my macbook if you hold the command button down and click on the “+” button everything gets bigger.
I think I could be more helpful (and ask my friend) if you tell me what sort of content you are working with.
Hi thanks for your reply. I run a spiritual blog, and some of my elderly clients say that since I have changed to wordpress they can’t read it as easy as when I put my blogs into a newsletter format using Aweber.
A lot of the theme’s have small print or are taking up with large pictures. I am not very good at understanding CSS stylesheets. you can find my blog at archangeltherapy.net/blog I have done my best to advise people to use the command and plus sign but still every now and again customers would prefer just to be able to read it.
I just wanted to see if there was anything I could do to help their reading experience a little more easier.

I can help you change the sizes of the fonts with CSS but either certain sections would always have giant fonts…or you could do a page like this (which is awkward and clunky…):

And have all three of those link to the post/page that it matches.
I can’t tell which theme you are using, so it’s hard to know your CSS styles. I know that Twenty Thirteen uses really enormous fonts and it has an optional right hand sidebar which I don’t think they show when you preview it.

I would suggest that you consider adding a page to your site that informs users how to increase the text size via the own web browsers. Or link to a page like http://www.bbc.co.uk/accessibility/guides/vision_index.shtml
