    Hello,

I’m wondering if it’s possible to decrease the load time of this page. I think Connections may cause it to take longer to load. Any tips on making the page load as fast as possible? Is Connections known to load slower when used w/ other plug-ins?

I’m currently using the DIVI theme.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

I took a look at your page. A few items that is noticed…

    – The Google Analytics for WordPress plugin is taking roughly 2.5secs to load it javascript. I think this is web host related because refreshing the page a few times shows that other javascripts and CSS files can take over 2secs to load too. Really these should load under a half sec on a decent broadband connection.

    – There is an image named geometric-overlay-01.jpg that is not found which causes a roughly 4sec delay.

    – It appears you are showing, as a guess around 70 entries on the for best performance I recommend no more than 20. This is not a Connections bug or limitation, the same would occur if you were to load as many WordPress Posts on a single page. A couple ways to address this would to use a caching plugin like WP Rocket or use a premium template such as cMap to paginate the directory (the default is 20 entries per page). Here’s the link to premium templates which support search, filter by category and paginated listings.

I hope this helps! Please let me know.

Thank you so much for your analysis. I will take a look into these issues.

Does the pro pack include templates with pagination as well as search and filter by category?

Awesome, the pro pack sounds great!

Is there an extension that allows visitors to rate the listings in the directory? Like 1 – 5 star ratings.

Sorry, no, there is not a ratings addon. This sounds good in practice, especially since directory pages are usually the most visited pages on a site. But, if you can not get users engagement by actually rating you actually will give the impression that no one visits potentially causing less return visitors. And then you have to deal with managing submitted user review, spam reviews and weeding out bought reviews. All of which can be a time investment.

I hope this answers your question thoroughly!
