I am getting errors on numerous images. Even trying to remove them and add them anew does not change things.

So, when added in featured image I see this:

But when clicking on it, it is displayed just fine in the media:

When going to the actual post, another one (scroll down to relevant posts thumbnails where something similar happens to some of them – https://ibb.co/5sfVPz7), it looks like this

When right clicking and finding its URL and going there, I see “We cannot complete this request, remote data could not be fetched”.

I have tried disabling security plugins, no change.

Hi @spiros –

I looked at the test post that you gave and the issue is that the image doesn’t exist on your server.

For example:

https://i0.wp.com/poiimata.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/sunset-3070729_640.jpg

is trying to load:

https://poiimata.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/sunset-3070729_640.jpg

However, that image is not present on your server and is therefore not able to be cached by our CDN.

Please also note that Site Accelerator requires an active Jetpack connection to work properly. Your site is not currently connected to Jetpack.

(apparently some hotlink setting or something protects the images from direct access or somehow a thumbnail version is requested which does not exist?)

For example in this post: https://poiimata.com/2022/04/29/nychta-toy-pascha-paylina-pampoydi/

The image URL apparently is: https://poiimata.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/angel-1359143_640.jpg which is also not directly accesible via this URL (nor the listed permalink in the actual code, although when clicking at that link from Media, it is directly accessible), however, it is displayed just fine.

Also, just tested with Jetpack > Performance and Growth > Image Accelerator > Off

Result: image is displayed here after refresh https://poiimata.com/2017/12/05/kolofoties-spyros-bogdanos/ and it is also displayed as a thumbnail when editing the post’s at the featured image selection section. Turning Image Accelerator > On results in the same problem reappearing.

The broken thumbnails in relevant posts remain in both of these cases.

Hi @spiros

I can confirm that the image is accessible through your website’s link; however, our CDN can’t fetch it. I’ve looked further into at your site on our end, and found that it was saved as www.poiimata.com instead of poiimata.com where it’s currently loading.

Could you test now and see if this works? Reconnect Jetpack first before doing that:

I did disconnect and reconnect. No change in affected posts. Do I have to change a setting somewhere?

Looks like the culprit was some code in htaccess

RewriteRule .*\.(jpg|jpeg|gif|png|bmp)$ - [F,NC]
