hello, you are commenting on the free version of the plugin here. the pro version is targeted at website creators that sell or market websites. also if you are an NGO or do educational content you get a free license.
agree its way to expensive for a simple slider based on a free javascript called swiper. and freemius is annoying at all even in free version with the upselling messages.

the team of 2 people spend alot of time coding this and cannot live from the income the paid plugin generates. it is < %2 users that pay for. there are many features in the free version. if you can code, you can easily code your own plugin, or save the hours and use ours.
