    Hi @scarpinoc

    No big surprise here – sorry to have surprised you! This is mentioned in the plugin FAQ and documented ad nauseum on our website. This is because WaterWoo works with open source PDF parsing/writing libraries called TCPDI/TCPDF, similar to the FPDI/FPDF used by other similar plugins. All these plugins are UNABLE to retain advanced PDF features. You can read more about this if you choose at https://web.little-package.com/2018/11/05/pdf-watermarking-limitations-explained/

    There are options, but in the $0-100 range you’re just not going to get perfection. 🙂

    Hello, ohh… sorry my friend! I didn’t read all your FAQ! MY fautl!

    Mmmm. Do you know what? I cannot sell an eBook without bookmarks…
    Is your PRO version able to maintain bookmarks and PDF settings?
    If no, what do you suggest me to do?
    Thank you for your time!

    Your answer is in the blog post I just linked to. Currently WooStamper is the only plugin for WordPress which will preserve your PDF *as is* yet also add a mark and/or password protect/encrypt/protect it. Check out the link please.

    Ahh… ok, sorry, but I’m very newbie as you see.

    another question:
    From my internal test, I was able to remove the PDF password from my PDF easily using some online webisite.
    Then I can open the PDF with Adobe Acrobat PRO, and delete your watermark text manually.

    Is there a better solution to protect a PDF?

    @scarpinoc

    PDF is an open specification. Nobody is going to be able to 100% protect a PDF. These plugins can help you, but the only fail-proof solution is to maybe not share your PDF at all.

    Little Package,
    eh eh eh … yes yes… I understand what you want to tell me 😉
    Thank you very much for the help!

    @scarpinoc,

    All that said, most the paid watermarking plugins for WordPress PDFs WILL encrypt PDFs (up to AES 256 if using WooStamper, for example)… and this would have helped a lot to prevent what you just accomplished on the web.

    But, are you able to remove the WooStamper AES 256 encription?
    I mean, I’m easily able to remove password I created with Adobe Acrobat PRO using one of the million website available, which is crazy in my opinion.

    How can be possible that Adobe protected file are so easy to unprotect?
