@franktcmarketing I use LC on a regular basis. In fact I started when it was sold, not free. As Slobodan clarified, the plugin is free. You have to pay for premium support. All this in my opinion is very reasonable.
1. Regarding being “slow.” You’re more than welcome to speed test my Website, which is 99% built using LC. I just ran GTmetrix and load times are averaging 1 second. And I’m fine with that. In contrast, I was hired 3 weeks ago by a local insurance company – their ‘Web designer’ did a mash-up job selling them a really awful Website based on a $60 template (I think X Theme), with a load time exceeding 18 seconds! The new site I’m developing with LC is coming in at under 2 seconds.
2. I have no idea what the backend of your Website looks like, so I can’t offer an opinion why it’s slow. I doubt it’s LC though. Building a ‘fast’ Website requires some effort on your part, not the page builder – I host all my clients on a SSD VPS, setup some type of file caching, maybe even a CDN, good on-page optimization. Never had a complaint.
3. As loosing (or losing) all your work? I’ve never had that happen, and you didn’t go into detail so I can’t offer a suggestion to the culprit. BUT – gotta back dat stuff up bro 🙂
4. SEO works good for me. I’m ranking on Google SERP’s most times on page #1. But then I’m a credentialed SEO professional. And as far as I can tell, all search engines are crawling my pages. Have you checked your Website through Google Webmaster tools? This can most times identify page/site errors you would not otherwise know about.
5. Support, as Slobodan clarified, is the only aspect of LC that he charges for. C’mon, he’s gotta eat just like you! Next you’ll want him to build the Website for you too.
I work on my Website almost every week. There is a lot I still need to do to get it fully optimized. As for your Website, I’m going off very few details because you didn’t provide a link or really anything specific. Blaming the page builder though, basically an element that contributes very little to page load speeds or SEO, in my opinion is not very fair.
