• When this functionality was added to Woo Commerce, it was a game changer for me. The convenience was great and the cost was identical to other shipping services outside of Woo. Recently, the rates have changed and it’s no longer a value to use it. It’s convenient, but when you’re spending an additional $10 a day to use it, the decision to move away from it is easy to make.

I hope things change, but until such time I will not be using their shipping module.

    Hi there,

Thank you for sharing your experience, and I’m sorry to hear the shipping costs have been impacting your bottom line. I completely understand how important competitive rates are when you’re shipping every day.

I’d like to clarify what’s behind the rate changes you’re seeing. WooCommerce Shipping doesn’t set its own prices or add any markup, it passes through carrier rates directly, with pre-negotiated discounts applied automatically. There are no monthly fees or hidden costs on our side.

The increases you’ve noticed are coming from the carriers themselves. USPS implemented rate increases across their shipping services in January 2026 (averaging 6-8% depending on the service), and then applied an additional temporary 8% surcharge in late April 2026 on Priority Mail, Priority Mail Express, USPS Ground Advantage, and Parcel Select. That surcharge runs through January 2027. DHL Express also raised rates by about 5.9% at the start of the year.

These carrier-level increases affect all platforms and shipping services, though different services may negotiate different discount structures, which can lead to varying prices across tools.

If you’d like, I’d be happy to take a closer look at the specific rates you’re seeing to make sure you’re getting the best available pricing through WooCommerce Shipping. You can reach our support team directly here: https://woocommerce.com/my-account/contact-support/

Thanks again for sharing your feedback, it’s valuable and helps shape those improvements.
