  • This was an excellent plugin until the last update.

Now it keeps injecting spam messages into my dashboard to enter competition to win a bundle.

This plugin has now been reported for violating WordPress repository terms.

  • Just to point out it is not just the dashboard but other admin pages such as the jetpack stats page that the message appears as well.

    Hey Kevin,

I am sorry that you feel that way, there were people asking for this and they are interested in winning a PRO license for free, that’s why I mentioned.

If you consider it spam, you can easily dismiss the notification or you can remove the plugin or fork on your own needs .

However I would appreciate if you can re-read your post and not mislead people “Now it keeps injecting spam messages into my dashboard to enter competition to win a bundle.” , the plugin doesn’t inject anything and is not keep doing it, it was a one time notification that you got regarding our yearly giveaway, probably you are using the plugin for months and this is the first time you are getting it, while I understand your position, I would appreciate your honesty.

    Thanks!

    Hi

Thsnks for your reply but I stand by my review.

It’s not a once off occurrence I’ve had the ad now appear 5 times in 3 days and not just on your plugin admin page but other plugin pages.

If you want to add news to the dashboard then do it the correct way that other plugins do. That is allow people to turn off notifications from you in the screen options screen – your plugin does not allow that but forces your ad into the dashboard screen.

If you want to put ads on your own plugin admin page then you are more than entitled to do that – it’s your plugin page – but you should not hijack other plugin pages to display your ad.

My review stands as it is.

    Thanks
    Kevin

    Hey Kevin,

Is our fault then, we were not aware of that behaviour ( re-appearing after dismiss) ,just for other users reading this, it will be fixed .

I appreciate your feedback on this, I understand that not everybody agree with our approach of doing things sometimes.
