Warning! WP Super Cache caching was broken but has been fixed! The script advanced-cache.php could not load wp-cache-phase1.php.

The file /home/XXXXX/public_html/XXXXX/data/advanced-cache.php has been recreated and WPCACHEHOME fixed in your wp-config.php. Reload to hide this message.

    Hi,

I am experienced this well known issue. After installing WP Super Cache for the first time months ago, and being so happy with its performance, just for checking purposes at my site, I have deactivated and activated it again and then that message constantly shows up at the Dashboard.

Also, I think cache is not working anymore as the site slowed down and the Cache and Supercache are always 0Kb.

I have reinstalled it several times, checking at wp-config.php if caching is turned on. Checking the URL at the plugin files. I haven’t changed file permissions either. Everything I have found at the forums.

Nothing. The plugin is actually death at my site.

Any idea, before moving to another plugin? Is there any parameter or anything else at the database that should be checked?

    Thank you in advance.

  • OK, let’s see if we can track this down:
    1. Does the file wp-content/plugins/wp-super-cache/wp-cache-phase1.php exist?
    2. Is WPCACHEHOME defined in your wp-config.php ? Is it defined before require_once(ABSPATH . 'wp-settings.php'); ?
    3. Does wp-content/advanced-cache.php have the text “WP SUPER CACHE 1.2” as a comment on the second line?

I was experiencing the same issue and #2 had the incorrect path! Fixed it & message disappeared right away. Thanks a million!!!
