I was trying to upload a plugin update for the google xml sitemap generator this morning. When I told wp to update this plugin from the plugin dashboard it asked me for my FTP info (which I provided) and I received the following message:
    “Downloading update from http://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/google-sitemap-generator.3.2.3.zip.

Warning: touch() [function.touch]: Unable to create file D:\Inetpub\DomainID168177\GlassPolyproTechnicalForum/wp-content/google-sitemap-generator.tmp because Permission denied in D:\Inetpub\DomainID168177\GlassPolyproTechnicalForum\wp-admin\includes\file.php on line 184

Download failed. Could not create Temporary file”
I have not had this issue before (that I recall) when downloading new plugins or updating existing plugins. If it seeks a simple code edit on line 184 of the file.php I can do that but I’m not sure what’s going on here or what should be done to solve the problem. Suggestions would be gratefully appreciated.
    Parker

that is a host security issue
contact them and show this error – ask how to get around it

    Thank you Samboll.

Hi probably solved but i went to Godaddy’s web based file manager and changed the permissions on the wp-content folder to read and write. Problem solved.
