 * I was at the last step of the installation process when this popped up:

 * Try re-uploading all files & folders from a **fresh** download of WordPress.

 * Tried that, no luck. I used Dreamweaver CS5.5 to upload the wordpress folder.
   I am also using a PC.

 * Hi crason,
 * It sounds as if you are missing a required file to finish the installation. I
   would suggest downloading the package again and trying a clean install. I know
   you mentioned that you are uploading through Dreamweaver, did you download the
   installation package again when you tried it?

 * I re installed it and this is the new error I get:
    Parse error: syntax error,
   unexpected ‘.’ in /home2/jason/public_html/wp/wp-includes/user.php on line 981
 * I looked in the code and it says this:

 * I still have not been able to figure it out. Same line 981 error:
    ‘show_option_all’../../
   wordpress/wp-includes/ => ”, ‘show_option_none’../../wordpress/wp-includes/ =
   > ”, ‘hide_if_only_one_author’../../wordpress/wp-includes/ => ”,
 * and then some
