• I need some help because when somentimes I get into my site (www.gurusblog.com) I have this warning message:
Warning: ob_start(): output handler ‘ob_gzhandler’ cannot be used after ‘URL-Rewriter’ in /home/gurusb2/public_html/wp-includes/functions.php on line 452
Since I have been working with a configured version from fantastico, I don’t have any idea about this warning since I haven’t ever used that file…Another thing happens, is that when that message shows, all the style gets misconfigured…then, after refreshing, all is fixed and the warning dissapears…
Please, any idea of how to solve this problem???
    Thank you,
    Jordi

  • Login to your admin section. Click on “options” on the menu bar. Click on the “reading” tab. On the bottom of the page you will see a checkbox followed by “WordPress should compress articles (gzip) if browsers ask for them”.
Uncheck this checkbox if it is already checked and see if the warning goes away.

Thank you, it seems your suggestion is working 😉
Doing this will slow down the web access??

Technically, being able to compress the contents and send it over would ideally make it a smaller transfer, but if it isn’t working, then what can you do? 🙂
I tried to enable it on my site and got the same warning message, so I turned it off. With my work and home cable connection, things don’t seem that slow. I have no idea how slow it is on dial-up, but noone has screamed at me yet.
    Regards
