Have you tried:
– switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.
– resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.
– re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder and wp-config.php & root .htaccess files – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.
i am concerned about the reset because the shopping cart plugin will lose data if i deactivate it… wont that have the same affect on the shopping cart plugin if i reset using FTP or PhpMyAdmin? … Thoughts.
Your plugin settings are saved in your database and should be retained for future use.
bad plugin, not sure which one tho… fixed.
This is a known problem with the the latest updates of WordPress + the WP Database Backup plugin. I had the same issue on my website, http://GridbeamSolutions.com. Deactivate the plugin to fix the problem.

I have contacted the plugin developer about the issue. Hopefully we will have an error-free update from him soon. 🙂
