    Hi!

    It is for advertising/stats on the settings page. This file is not loaded on the frontend, and only loaded on the backend when you are on the search settings page.

    You can check it in ajax-search-lite.php (line 66-78):

    function navigation_menu() {
          if(current_user_can('add_users')) {
          	if (!defined("EMU2_I18N_DOMAIN")) define('EMU2_I18N_DOMAIN', "");
            add_menu_page(
          	 __('Ajax Search Lite', EMU2_I18N_DOMAIN),
          	 __('Ajax Search Lite', EMU2_I18N_DOMAIN),
          	 0,
          	 AJAXSEARCHLITE_DIR.'/settings.php',
          	 '',
          	 plugins_url('/icon.png', __FILE__)
            );
          }
        }

    This creates the navigation menu, points to the settings.php, and if you open up the settings.php:

    <div class="wrap" id="wpdreams">
    <?php
      require_once(AJAXSEARCHLITE_PATH."/settings/search.php");
    ?>
    </div>

    Basically this is where it’s included. This is only visible on the settings page. (top banner)

    The frondend layout is generated by the includes/shortcodes.php file. You can check it, there is no stats keeping code, no hidden scripts, nothing at all.
