Trying to figure out how to get the post-form here to work like the one here, i.e. hide the Post In popup list and Post Update button until the user clicks in the text area in order to save space on the page.

I've figured out the one on the homepage is controlled by swa/post-form.php and the ones elsewhere in the site by the buddy/activity/post-form.php.

I can see the two files are different but being a newbie it is not clear to me what code controls the "hide/show" attributes and if the changes could all be accomplished in a single file.
