wanting second site locally | WordPress.org

I am wanting to start a new WP site locally. I have an existing one, but the new one is not related to it in any way.
What steps do I need to take? Do I need to install WP again, if so where?
I have MAMP (mac) already installed and active.

Follow the same procedure, but make sure you choose a unique database name for the new site

So do I need to install a new WP or can I just create the new mysql database in the phpmyadmin part of MAMP and that will allow me to have a new site? I am a bit rusty at this.

you’ll need to:

– download a fresh copy of wp
– create a new mysql database via phpmyadmin
– create a new folder in the htdocs folder
– unzip your download and put the wp files in the new folder
– visit e.g. http://localhost:8888/mynewfolder to run the install
