Wanted: role-based plugins!

After playing around with the Beta, I resume: Version 2.0 is a great step forward for me.

Maybe the most useful change is going from hierarchical user levels to roles, which provides a “real” user management.

But:

Since Plugins might change Roles and Capabilities, just the ‘standard’ Roles and Capabilities are addressed in this article.

Or as I read in Simple Thoughts today:

Role replaces user level. I am assuming tons of plugins which check the user level before allowing specific action will fail.

I agree. Unfortunately I’m just a wp user and does not have any programming skills, but I really would like to see some plugins like:

– Defining your own roles not only the ‘standard’ ones
– Permission management for specific categories based on roles

And I’m sure, that we will have it.
