Want to make one page full browser width other 950px

I need to have a full browser width layout for my home page (not a blog page but a static page) and all the other pages 950px. I can make all the pages full browser width by making the body width 100%, but am not able to only make the home page 100% and the inner pages 950px – have tried changing my CSS to select just the home page for the wide width but its not recognizing the selectors. .home, etc. I also have tried making a custom template for the home page with no luck.
I am using Genesis with the Prose child theme.
Any help greatly appreciated!
