• Hi guys,

I’m looking to transfer my html site over to wordpress. I’m in the process of getting my new template finalized.

Is there a way of getting “posts” as buttons on my horizontal navbar? The categories on my html site are simply content pages. I don’t want to change the structure of my site.

At the moment the buttons only appear on the horizontal navigation bar if I make a new category and the permalink isn’t structured how I want it. I’d rather it had the permalink structure of a post.

Here is my site on a temporary url if it helps – weightlosspundit.com

Hopefully you’ll see what I mean – Thanks a bunch

    Altug

  • If you want posts as buttons on your nav bar – I would suggest making pages with these posts. They would then appear besides Home and About on your site.

The other way would be to name the category as your post. You would then have a category named “Vin Diesel Workout” with one post in it and Vin Diesel Workout would appear on the nav bar that you have now.

You can then adjust the permalinks in SETTINGS | Permalinks so that only the post name will appear in the URL.

I don’t think that there’s a way to put posts as buttons on the horizontal navbar.

That would mess up the current on-page SEO of my website so I’d rather not do that.

Thanks for the suggestions though. Does anyone know of a way I can put posts in the navbar? Even it means changing some code I don’t mind doing that?
